Internal Medicine
Dr. Primo Abel Mayhua is a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist. He graduated with honors in 2005 from the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University in 1991 specializing in internal medicine. Having more than 18 years of diverse experiences, especially in internal medicine, Dr. Primo Abel Mayhua affiliates with many hospitals including Central Texas Medical Center, Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center in Kyle and New Braunfels Texas, Dr. Primo Abel Mayhua also cooperates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups in central Texas.
Dr. Mayhua is a bi-lingual provider who works with multiple skilled nursing facilities, independent and assisted living communities, and group homes across Central Texas to provide quality, continued care for his patients. He is also serves as a medical director for Halcyon Home in Austin Texas. In January of 2024 Dr. Mayhua joined Jarrell Medical Clinic as Physician and Owner.
He is focused on helping underserved patients at Jarrell Medical Clinic and nursing home patients achieve and maintain consistent quality patient care in our growing community. During his free time Dr. Mayhua enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Cathleen Curl, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
Cathleen Curl is a dedicated board-certified Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field of healthcare. Graduating from the University of Texas in 2023 with a specialization in family medicine, Cathleen has spent over six years honing her skills and knowledge in various clinical settings. Before advancing to her current role, Cathleen embarked on a rewarding nursing journey, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later transitioning to become an ICU nurse. Her commitment to excellence and passion for patient care led her to excel in roles at renowned medical centers, including Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and St. David's Medical Center in Austin. During her tenure as an ICU nurse, Cathleen demonstrated proficiency in caring for complex and critically ill patients, overseeing a 21-bed unit, and utilizing advanced medical technologies such as ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps. Her dedication to patient advocacy and quality improvement is evident through her involvement in the Service Excellence committee, where she addresses patient concerns and contributes to enhancing hospital processes. In addition to her clinical roles, Cathleen is actively engaged in professional organizations such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Cathleen's comprehensive skill set, coupled with her compassionate approach to patient care, makes her a valued member of Jarrell Medical Clinic. She is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care to individuals and families, empowering them to achieve optimal health and wellness.
